Milestone of a Mamba

The kid from unfamiliar school gives the professional league new dimensions in world of hoops. Its seems his immortality will live forever in the heart of every basketball fans. His brilliance clears the path of the Lakers to become one of the most popular sports club in the planet. Of course, we know Kobe Bean Bryant.

His hoop aspirations came from his father Joe when they live at Philadelphia during younger years. And surprising to me is he is a die-hard Laker fan although they had a team in their state- the Philadelphia 76ers.

In just recent time, I browse his highlights during his high school stint at Lower Merion. It's amazed me because he is positioned at 5 spot. He totally dominate that game- I don't know the name of their opponent that time. Another thing is he made a spectacular 2,883 career points during his stay at high school. He was treaten as 'god' of Lower Merion when he retired his jersey no.33.

When he is drafted in 1996, the Lakers had a big expectation on him and obviously, he delivered even now.
Despite of his characteristics of being ball-hog, I think he is the modern Air Jordan. But he will fail to oust Jordan realistically.

Now, that he is on 30,000 point mark, I'm sure that all Lakers greats, whether they are in the arc of heaven or in the light of earth, they will totally applaud him. That feat is immortality. I hope his story in Lakerland will end in a good note.

Despite of all criticisms, Kobe will stand strong. And that is a blessing.

Possible Implications of Pau Swap

In a great organization like LA Lakers, higher expectations awaits when every player comes in. Pau Gasol is not new on this type of feat.

Before the lockout-shortened season start, Lakers sent Gasol to Rockets in a 3-team swap to gain one of the best playmakers in the NBA named Chris Paul. But of course as we know, Commissioner David Stern is the antagonist in that deal. Many fans criticized the old man for making participation to this deal. Maybe because that time, the league owns New Orleans Hornets (Pelicans maybe for next season).

Now on this current season, some rumors killing the Spanish big man. Maybe because he is not suitable to the imposed system of Mike D' Antoni. Some will say he is soft. Some will mention the concern about the cap space of their favorite team.

In my humble opinion, if Gasol will sent to any team, obviously, Lakers will lose the two-tower combo with Dwight Howard. Dwight can solely lead the paint. The organization will loss a descent freethrow shooter and jumpshooter. They will loss a descent substitute if Howard ( i hope not) injures again.

On the other side, Lakers will have a least chance to make into the late first round of next year's draft via lottery. They are always trying pirate talents of medium and small market clubs during their longest run in the league. But this time, I think they will try at least in the moment.

As my conclusion, I hope Lakers fans will accept whatever the circumstances it is. Maybe trading Gasol is the key to get their ultimate goal. Right? Some will say No.
