Last March 8, the game between Petron Blaze Boosters and Alaska Aces had become hilarious most especially to the 4th quarter when the ex-Knick forward Renaldo Balkman confronted the officials after a "non-call" instance. Assistant coach Biboy Ravanes and his teammates Ronald Tubid and Arwind Santos tried to stop their reinforcement to prevent worst things. But Balkman lost his calm. The so-called "Spiderman" Santos committed mistake when he show his unnecessary gesture on their import. And the worst event occurred when Balkman choked Santos.
In just a recent time, PBA Commissioner Chito Salud called Balkman for convincing interoggation to avoid possible disbandment to the league. The whole Petron squad goes to Salud's office to support the former Nugget and Knick slasher morally. After a nervy five hours, the Commissioner decided to banned Mr. Balkman and pay Php 250,000 for his unsportsmanlike conduct.
Going to my personal argument, is the decision to oust Balkman right and justifiable?? That is the subject focused on the court of public opinion for the lat few weeks.
Some will mention the effect of Balkman's gesture to the television viewers most especially to the young children. Some will say he deserved the second chance.
In the history of the league in terms of banning players, this Balkman case is absolutely injustice. Why?
If you recall the case of Wyne Arboleda ( which he give a solid job against a patron on an arena), James Yap (kicking an import) and Don Allado (his controversial tweets regarding officiating), they suffered the such penalties like one-conference suspensions (and a fine of moneys on James Yap case)...
This Balkman case totally different. In my personal perspective, if those three local players committed unusual violations and give a chance to regain confidence for their pro career, why he is excluded in this type of treatment?
To end my blog, Balkman deserved the second chance. The physique of psychology will deeply explained why he has an unexplicable behavior.
Therefore conclude, another disgusting move by Salud.
