Milestone of a Mamba

The kid from unfamiliar school gives the professional league new dimensions in world of hoops. Its seems his immortality will live forever in the heart of every basketball fans. His brilliance clears the path of the Lakers to become one of the most popular sports club in the planet. Of course, we know Kobe Bean Bryant.

His hoop aspirations came from his father Joe when they live at Philadelphia during younger years. And surprising to me is he is a die-hard Laker fan although they had a team in their state- the Philadelphia 76ers.

In just recent time, I browse his highlights during his high school stint at Lower Merion. It's amazed me because he is positioned at 5 spot. He totally dominate that game- I don't know the name of their opponent that time. Another thing is he made a spectacular 2,883 career points during his stay at high school. He was treaten as 'god' of Lower Merion when he retired his jersey no.33.

When he is drafted in 1996, the Lakers had a big expectation on him and obviously, he delivered even now.
Despite of his characteristics of being ball-hog, I think he is the modern Air Jordan. But he will fail to oust Jordan realistically.

Now, that he is on 30,000 point mark, I'm sure that all Lakers greats, whether they are in the arc of heaven or in the light of earth, they will totally applaud him. That feat is immortality. I hope his story in Lakerland will end in a good note.

Despite of all criticisms, Kobe will stand strong. And that is a blessing.

Possible Implications of Pau Swap

In a great organization like LA Lakers, higher expectations awaits when every player comes in. Pau Gasol is not new on this type of feat.

Before the lockout-shortened season start, Lakers sent Gasol to Rockets in a 3-team swap to gain one of the best playmakers in the NBA named Chris Paul. But of course as we know, Commissioner David Stern is the antagonist in that deal. Many fans criticized the old man for making participation to this deal. Maybe because that time, the league owns New Orleans Hornets (Pelicans maybe for next season).

Now on this current season, some rumors killing the Spanish big man. Maybe because he is not suitable to the imposed system of Mike D' Antoni. Some will say he is soft. Some will mention the concern about the cap space of their favorite team.

In my humble opinion, if Gasol will sent to any team, obviously, Lakers will lose the two-tower combo with Dwight Howard. Dwight can solely lead the paint. The organization will loss a descent freethrow shooter and jumpshooter. They will loss a descent substitute if Howard ( i hope not) injures again.

On the other side, Lakers will have a least chance to make into the late first round of next year's draft via lottery. They are always trying pirate talents of medium and small market clubs during their longest run in the league. But this time, I think they will try at least in the moment.

As my conclusion, I hope Lakers fans will accept whatever the circumstances it is. Maybe trading Gasol is the key to get their ultimate goal. Right? Some will say No.

Washington's Lack of Wizardry

It is worst to say that the capital of strongest nation in the world are winless in NBA. That 11-game losing skid is not a joke. Maybe they want to hit a record like Miami Heat, New Jersey Nets, Toronto Raptors and Vancouver Grizzlies.

After they pick John Wall, Jan Vesely and Bradley Beal in their previous three drafts, they done nothing straight to the point. Maybe at least a no.8 spot for the playoffs, they failed to fulfill it. They notched veterans Trevor Ariza and Nene, what is happening.. nothing.

Last season, they fired Flip Saunders because of struggling of this team. Randy Wittman take the helm for the rest of lockout-shortened season. Now they are facing this kind of juncture right now, Wittman is on a hot seat.

Let's face the reality. They are always patron of the first round draft lottery. And I'm sure, they will notch at least Top 5. I will surprise if it is in top 3. Tanking games for the draft purposes is not really effective for this generation. They are wasting their money for those who make their self-interest. That's totally "business".

I am leaving this question now.. What is the function of Wizards since its arrival to the NBA??

Some Great No.6 Picks In NBA Archives

Currently, Damian Lillard is recognized in the 2012 NBA Draft class when they are assessing his performance. In my own opinion, he is the steal of the draft. His plays describes a sharpen veteran playmaker. I hope he will not trigger injuries like the Odens and Roys in Portland history. At least in the next 3 years, he will be one of the great pointguards the league they ever had.

The Pringle Era in Lakerland

Big news in the world of hoops so far is the oust move of Lakers management to well-known defensive and once awarded as best coach in one season named Mike Brown. Of course, the reason is the slump of star-studded line-up of the team casting Kobe, Dwight, Steve and Pau. Another is a "crazy" strategy called Princeton offense. This kills the Lakers in their first 5 games of 2012-2013 season.

Now, another shocking news is the appointment of well-known offensive coach named Mike D'Antoni. In the last couple of days, Zen Master Phil Jackson is the center of buzz in looking for Brown successor.

For me, this is the start of "Pringle Era" in Lakerland. For the meantime, let's give him a benefit of doubt despite of his previous struggle at Nuggets, Suns and Knicks.

We have no choice but to accept the management's decision. Maybe they see D'Antoni the answer of Lakers struggle. Maybe they see "Mr.Pringle" will be the good mentor for Steve Nash. D'Antoni tried Nash before. Now, he will press the button and instruct Nash, "Do my previous plans when we at Arizona state".

Why the two Crowd Favorites are Struggling??

Barako Should Win That Game Yesterday Night

Yesterday night, there is a heated discussions if the Raffy Reavis tapping of ball in the last 15 seconds of their game is legal or not. But at the end of that night, still Commissioner Chito Salud decided that the San Mig Coffee Mixers is still victorious in that game. Another but is, how legal his position regarding this?

Based on his statement, according to the FIBA rules "A player cannot touch the basketball while it is inside the imaginary cylinder above the basket, a player can now touch or swat the basketball after it touches the ring". But another question is this, is all the 10 member teams of that league are aware of this type of ruling.

Plain and simple, that game is robbed. This is the indication how they favor the team they want too more. Because of money and fame- and so many others. The opponent of Barako is a rich team owned by a great businessman.

To the top PBA officials, please clarify this kind of ruling. I think this is the proper time to proclaim all the existing rules of the league so that there is no confusions regarding this.

For the Barako Brigade fans, I am in your side because this type of 'melodrama' cannot be tolerated.

War in the Jungle ( The 2012 UAAP Finals Preview)

In an usual scenario, the animals belongs to the forest had different personalities. By applying biology principle, they had prey and predators. That kind of relationship is called predation. They are seeking food for their own survival. Eagles and tigers are no different in this kind of living.

Chat with 'The Boss'

Just recent time, with the Cyberfans day of Alaska Aces, I chat with one of the best existing centers in the PBA- named Joachim Thoss.

In our previous conversation, we discussed his participation in the Smart Gilas Pilipinas for Jones Cup and recently concluded FIBA Asia Cup. Based on his statement, he is happy in joining the national team despite of criticisms against him. He had a great time with them.

His character represented how good he is. Maybe a little bit of regrets, I inquired him regarding the trade involving LA Tenorio going to crowd favorite Barangay Ginebra San Miguel. The 31-year old big man said that he is happy that Tenorio landed to a good team.

Regarding to the newly acquired players by Alaska, he is satisfied with them. He exactly stated that they are "hard-working bunch of guys" and "love their attitudes, too".

At the end of the day, this is my honor to chat with him. Honestly say, in a scant way, I see that great tall players are counting only in the left hand. One of them is ' The Boss'.

Azkals: Despite of All

We going to football a little bit to discuss the status of Philippine Azkals for the bid of glory to this sport.

Honestly, I did not follow any games of Azkals because of my hype on basketball-NBA,NCAA,UAAP,PCCL and PBA. This kind of instinct creates me some doubts about the capabilities of this team into the superpowers. If we take the basis of current FIFA Ranking, the Azkals is "outcast" by the top countries such as Spain,Germany,England,Portugal among others.

The SuperMan Impact for the Lakers

In just recent time, Dwight Howard got its traded to the Lakers. The so-called "Dwightmare" is finally over just for now. Contentment is still the big issue for this big man. Strong indication is that there are no strong negotiation between him and GM Mitch Kupchak regarding to the contract extension. The most important thing is that the Lakers grabbed another rising star.

Dream Team: The Greatest Team of All

"Dream Team". When I was child, I 'm very curious to this kind of term. Sometimes, I see this term embedded on the "ukay-ukay" shirt.

During that time, honestly, basketball is not on my daily mode. Instead, more on watching Looney Tunes, Zenki, Dragon Ball is my regular habit. Before the named "Sakuragi" gave to Marc Pingris, I watched this type of character with full of stupidity ( I am pointing out the cartoon character on Slam Dunk).

Final Roar of a Tiger

Chot Reyes, Biboy Ravanes, Eric Altamirano, Binky Favis, Kenneth Duremdes and Bo Perasol are the casts of the franchise that entitled its being ferocious after almost a decade.

Its former name Coca-cola Tigers was under by San Miguel Corporation that time and they grabbed two titles. Maybe the SMC has a capability to finance this team loaded by the dedicated players such as Rudy Hatfield, Johnny Abarrientos, Poch Juinio, Reynel Hugnatan, Ali Peek, John Arigo and others.

Alaska's Final Ace??

Later at 5:15 pm, the Air21 Express will play against Alaska Aces, who struggled over this 2011-2012 PBA season. And maybe this will be the final game of the Aces as a franchise.

At all the course of this season, Alaska Aces had so many mysterious ways that anyone they don't know. Before the season opening last October 2,2011, the long time mentor Earl Timothy Cone leaved the franchise to make a "difference" and Bmeg Llamados represented that kind of manifestation.
