Wire-to-wire Pinoy Pride 18 Event

After the Pacquiao loss to Mexican bitter rival Juan Manuel Marquez, the boxing industry of the Philippines had gone down low. Still, the Nonito Donaire knockout victory against a fellow Mexican Jorge Arce served as a consolation to save the so-called "Filipino Pride".

The Pinoy Pride 18 event of ALA Promotions served as premier boxing fight of the year. It was happened at Cebu Waterfront in Cebu City. It featured fierce Donnie "Ahas" Nietes and Moises Fuentes for the WBO Light fly weight division title.

It was a neck-a-neck war between these two dwellers until the bell of Round 12 rang. Those three panel of judges scored a slightly contested scorecards with Adelaide Byrd and Pat Russell had 114-114 grade and only Filipino judge Danrex Tapdasan tallied a score in favor of the "Snake". Therefore, it was decided as Majority Draw.

Basically, it is one of the best fights entering this new year. I hope it would be one of the top candidates for Fight of the Year award. If Fuentes camp wants a rematch, then go for it as long as it is fair and square in terms of financial negotiations.
