A Daring Role of Michael Martinez at Sochi

The word Winter Olympics is the most seldom sporting event that I browsing since the emergence of Internet. I'm primarily focused on Summer Olympics because of its opportunity to some Filipino athletes specifically in boxing. But, my impression on Winter Olympics was changed because of a wonder boy who alter the landscape of ice-skating. Remember, he is a Filipino-which he represented a country contained with only two existing weather conditions- summer and rainy seasons.. Well,obviously, he is no other than Michael Christian Martinez.


His role was daring.. Why?? He tried his best to make a historical run in a rare sporting event like ice-skating. Michael done everything he could to toppled some usual competitors who wants to dominate that contention. He wanted to be a dark-horse of that tournament.

And here comes the government. I am kindly disappointed on how they handle that kind of support to an athlete like Martinez. I am only representing some sports-minded Filipinos who are seeking alteration in financing an athlete. As long as it is justifiable, the government should impose revised rules just to make a propeller of corroboration not for Martinez but to all athletes.

Michael, you deserved that kind of distinction. I hope for more success on you in the coming international competition.
