MLS Will Be Not Popular Without Golden Balls

Do you remember the friendly match between our Philippine Azkals and LA Galaxy?? Some of our football fans did not know where they came from? On what league? Their only basis is the Galaxy came from Major League Soccer. Sorry to say, they did not recognized that league.. It is obviously focused on beautiful faces of that friendly game such as Younghusband brothers and world's greatest football player David Beckham.

Beckham known as "Golden Balls", "Becks", "DB7" among others. He played first to famous soccer clubs in Europe such as Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy.

LA Galaxy came from MLS. It's so-called 'SuperDraft" will occur on January 18 (Manila time) and regular season at March 3 (Manila time).

Unfortunately, this league hold its low popularity behind football (which is relational to rugby). In just recent time year 2007, MLS become more exposed on its international scene via a so-called "Designated Player Rule". This is the start of pirating some European soccer greats most especially to Beckham. It resulted into a enormous impact in terms of revenue.

To give my descendent opinion here. I hope that MLS will continue its philosophy upholded by Beckham. In this modern times, no doubt that the "Golden Balls' universalized this league. I don't think nobody will beat him in terms of league promotion.

To the local sports channels here in the Philippines, please give MLS a chance besides the very popular PBA and NBA and some European alliance such as Bundes Liga, Barclay's Premiere League and La Liga because it will boost the popularity of football here in the Philippines.
