The Big Game is the Face of Sports for 2012

Like I popular quote, "Rather to be late not never", this is my little way to recognize a person who created a major impact of local or international sports scene. Basically it equalized an usual Athlete of the Year award by several sports authorities.

Now, we will breaking down at least some of up and downs of a so-called "Man of the Million Moves" named James Carlos Yap of San Mig Coffee Mixers.

In 2012, it was a great year for Big Game from Escalante. Although they loss to the resurrected Powerade Tigers in January, Yap delivered his usual game that wrought up enticement to the audience. And of course, this is only the first conference of a great mentor Tim Cone.

In the Commissioner's Cup Finals, Yap once again made big shots to brought Bmeg to its 9th franchise crown via a stunning do-or-die Game 7 against its rival Talk N Text Tropang Texters. He got his only 2nd Finals MVP that time.

The hard task for him came when they faced a very physical Rain or Shine Elastopainters in the championship round of Governor's Cup, who is seeking for its first major title in the pro league consisting of their import Jamel Cornley, Beau Belga, JR Quinahan and his rival sniper Jeff Chan. As everyone knows, James had become miserable. He is already been checked by his opponent.

Recently, maybe the worst part of his career came when he is totally black-out on both ends of the floor against also to the Elasto Painters in PBA All-Filipino semis. He is totally sandwiched defensively by its 4 players such as Ryan Arana, Gabe Norwood, Jireh Ibanes and Ronnie Matias in a separated minutes.

We all know that James will make such adjustments and despite of all, he is still considered as one of the favorite. His humbleness defines his personality. I know that he will not change his attitude. If he is already distinguished in an extra-curricular activities (especially on physical games), he will respond according to his clean conscience and he will justify it.

James will be still James. A big game and a big heart for his numerous fanatics there.
